Delmarva StarGaze, April '99 - Queen Anne, MD

Above is my observing buddy's 4" SCT (Meade model 2045) that he was currently using for some solar observing (note: that is my filter!). A number of nice sun spots were visible on the first day of the event.

Here is a closer view of our set up for the weekend. Due to limited sleep facilities (and my tendency to take up a large portion of those sleeping facilites; I like to sprawl-out), my observing buddy, Adrian Lozinski from Long Island who came down with us, slept in his tent. From what I heard, the weather was not too cold for sleeping outside; I wouldn't know since I spent the wee-hours in the heated motor home. :)

Both nights the 'coffee-grinder' slewing of this 10" Meade SCT scope could be heard all over the field.
